Would seem to be a good time now? Surely they can't sink further, and it was really just all a load of unfounded hype that caused them to bottom?

I suppose one could generalise from that > never seek to buy any discounted share which has come through a rough ride and may be on the turn because 'the Titanic was unsinkable'.

It was a non-answer to a perfectly straightforward question: buy shares in Northern Rock? People come here to ask straightforward questions to get straightforward answers: not to give you space to trawl for questions not phrased to your total satisfaction so that you can fill up the answer section with garbage.
Difficult to say - yes it was a load of unfounded hype, but unfounded hype can have unwanted consequences if enough people believe it.

The end of last week would have been better - the shares have risen today.....
