Bruising Still Sore

I had a bad fall down the stairs at the end of April. I badly bruised my thigh, winded myself and banged my shoulder. The bruise is the one i am still worried about. It was about 12" across and was sore for a long time. Eventually, the swelling & bruise went down but now, 5 months on, my thigh is still giving me discomfort. It aches and is sore but not all the time, mainly when I lie on that side to sleep. I am 25 & presumed it would heal itself, but it hasn't. Should I get it checked out - what would a doctor be able to do for it? Thanks x

You should get it checked out, just for your own peace of mind. It is possible to bruise a bone, and that takes a long time to heal (or so I'm told)
