The meaning of Gillette slogan

I'm not sure how long ago but Gillette ran a TV ad featuring men being manly ( astronauts ) and sensitive ( holding a baby ). The theme song was

" Gilletteeee.....The BEST a MAN can GET!!!! "

However someone has pointed out it could have two meanings.
1. Gillette is the best shaver a man can get
2. With use of Gillette products a man is " the best he can get"

I think the ad agency meant the latter . What do you think?

i reckon they didn't think it through that much and just went with it because it rhymed! i have to admit though, your second suggestion had never even ocurred to me, i always assumed they meant the best razor you could get - strange how we interpret things!!
