i have a large wicker basket that has been sitting on top of a shelf in an old dusty shop for possibly 10 years.

i'd like to put my duvet etc in it so anyone know how best to clean it?

i assume its mainly dusty, though potentially a touch of mould, so obviously don't want my bedding in there.

can it be wet?

thought about hairdryer to blow the dust away - or a duster, but it will be stuck in thr weave.

thanks

joko - Have you a little dustpan & brush? If you have, use the soft brush to get in to all the crevices of the basket & then maybe use a vac with brush tool attatchments to go over it. Then if you wipe it over with a wrung out cloth that has been soaked in some washing up liqid & let it air, that should do the trick!

Not widely used and most for decorative purposes

"Rattan furniture does not belong to the mainstream furniture." Lina, a designer, introduced that a complete set of rattan furniture or big rattan furniture such as sofa, rattan bedroom furniture is usually only used in Southeast-Asia styles of furniture. Due to the humid and hot climate in Southeast Asia region all year round, it will be extensive use of lightweight, durable, breathable rattan furniture. Craftsmen will be very particular about the methods of natural rattan furniture production, causing a higher cost, equivalent to the price of solid wood furniture, or 20% higher than panel furniture in prices. Therefore, at present they haven't been large-scale used for rattan furniture and house decorating on a large enough scale.
