Two ideas that work: 1. Run a hairbrush under the tap (water faucet) for a few seconds, shake off most of the water, and then brush through your hair with the slightly damp brush. A few times a day should keep static away. Unfortunately, doing this might ruin your hairstyle if you have one! 2. Here in the USA, there is a product called "Static Guard" which comes in an aerosol spray-can and was developed for spraying on clothing to eliminate static. However, it also works beautifully on hair, and leaves NOTHING behind on your hair, absolutely no residue of any kind, not even dampness (if you hold the can far enough away from your hair), it is just like spraying "air" onto your hair! Hopefully you have this product in the UK, it would be in the laundry section of the store. A little goes a long way, it works instantly and for hours at a time, if not all day long.
you're probably doing this already but just in case you do need a rubber based hair brush ie one where the bristle are set in rubber. I used to have static hair and it completely disappeared when i changed brush.
I always find using a good thick creamy conditioner works for me. I wash my hair in the shower, rinse and apply the conditoner and leave it on while I have the rest of my shower, so it has time to do its work. Hope this helps D
