Changed battery and know that i had to code the standerd radio cassette player again, Pressed the on button and nothing,not even the lines on screen. Held in the AS button still dead. checked fuses on right hand side and all ok. Someone said about disconnecting etc again to bring it to life?
Any other suggestions? or something else i should check. (its a grundig which came with car)

This is the one with the little pop-out screen section, i think, and it should ask for a code as soon as it's powered up after the battery is reconnected- if it's not asking then either the radio is working but the little screen is damaged and just not displaying, or, more likely, there's another line-fuse you don't know about!

Use a multimeter, or a test bulb, to see if 12v is actually getting to the unit in the first place-if there's nothing then somewhere else there's another fuse or a disturbed connection.

Hi yes it has the pop out screen,Thanks will take a look.
I seem to remember there being a fuse on the back of the radio itself

Thanks Birt. Yes i've done it. allen keyed the front and used a wire coat hanger to unclip the radio. And yes the fuse had blown. Wife is now happy.
