I am interested in learning the very basics of Greek mythology. can anyone recommend a book about it. I'm talking like a page or two on each section of the mythology. just basic and simple - no heavy stuff. Even a kids book on the subject would be good. I would just like to know the very basic ideas of it.

thanks for your help

Wikpedia is as good a place as any to start:

there are often lots of books on greek mythology, egyptians, romans etc in those discount bookshops. ingri d'aulaire's book of greek myths is aimed at 9-12 year olds, but is a good introduction
my mum has always been interested in greek mythology but not a great reader - i bought her one of thoise " horrible histories" bokks on greek mythology - it was great!

thank you to you all
I'd reccomend The Encyclopedia of Mythology by Arthur Cotterell - it's a fantastic mine of information, and it also covers Norse and Celtic mythology too. Also, beautiful pictures!
Robert Graves Greek Mythologies- also can I add that I know Wikipedia is the be all and end all to some people but it really annoys me when people request ideas for books and they get directred to a flipping website! happy reading.
Greek Myths by Robert Graves ... ISBN 0 14 00.7602 6

It's the one I use ..:-)
