My mate and I have a 91 Peugeot 205 1.4 as our potential entry into the Plymouth-Dakar challenge (an old banger rally across west Africa for fun & charity). It has a Bosch mono-jetronic injection system. We really wanted the simplicity of a carburetor engine for roadside (dune-side) repairs, but they are getting harder to find. Can anyone suggest what electronic modules we need to carry as spares? And if we remove the cat converter what should we do with the sensor that goes to it? Will it affect the running of the engine, can we get round it? Is a conversion to carb feasible, given all the electronic sensors currently fitted?? Any ideas much appreciated!
