Just DONT get it.
My home town of Stoke on Trent was in danger of been put into tier 4, thankfully that hasnt happened.
BUT can someone please explain the following rationale behind this...

I can go to work. Work that its impossible to socially distance from someone else. (My van mate aint going to sit in the back)
I then work in a (small) warehouse, where we pass each other constantly.. cant be helped.

We have (today alone) picked up from factorys, schools, churches ,supermarkets, a main shopping centre and other venues where thousands of other people were.

On top of this we have schools and other learning establishments open, retail, religious, factorys, etc and yet someone going to see their gran is causing Covid???

Why is seeing your own family more detrimental to health than businness?
Does Covid somehow discriminate between a business and family?
Sacrifice family but carry on shopping???

Because it’s a load of old pony.
Well the economy needs business work and shops. And grannies tend not to work
Go shopping with your family then
^ Nonsense, you can be a 'granny' at any age, not just when you're in your 80's !!
Whether I see my granny or not is an issue between the local medium and me, no one else's business.
Surely you know the answer. All interactions are risky.minimise them. Dint go to work if it's too risky. See your gran if she's happy but preferably outside
Burleyshirleys stalking me again. A must be right
It’s not that. If you have been in contact with someone who has the virus, then you could transfer it to your granny who has a much higher risk of dying from Covid than the younger people. It’s not that you’re causing Covid at all.
if the gran is in a home that;s not necesarily possible Bobbin.
BurleyShirly. Read what was said Tend not to work. The gov and medics are concerned about over 70s mot 45 year old young grans. You know that really
'Stalking' you (lol) No, just putting you right with the facts ! You're really not that important.
Well, get your facts right then, a lot of 'grannies' DO work !

//Go shopping with your family then//
Have a hard job as my mother is bed-bound with terminal cancer.
Never mind, ill crack on working with hundreds of strangers while not been able to see my mum....
Makes perfect sense.
Yes Emmie the word used was preferably.
But if you visit your mum you could pass the virus on to her. It’s not that difficult to understand surely?
If the home or medics wont let you see her that's nothing to do with tiers.

She's not in a home, shes at my sisters, so EVERYTHING to do with tiers.
*AND* I will see her Xmas day.
If Im allowed to mix with 100's of people a day then I will see my mum.

//But if you visit your mum you could pass the virus on to her//
And this is the mentality that I dont get
(and dont wish to sound rude either)
She's dying either way, virus or no virus.
Rather she had family around her than die lonely.
Glad you're seeing her on Christmas Day nailit. Hope it's a good day x
You're making a major mistake, nailit: you're trying to rationalise the nonsense. It makes no sense whatsoever for you not to see your Mum. You're quite right; she'd probably far rather die from Covid among her family than die from cancer alone. But try not to make sense of it as you'll drive yourself crackers. If your Mum was fit and well I dare say you'd make the decision between you whether or not you'd keep your distance. Unfortunately personal responsibility and discretion has been taken away from us - along with much else besides.
Nailit certainly see your side, one needs the wisdom of solomon to make the right choice and understand why. If it were my parent I'd certainly prefer they died of covid with me there than a drawn out death of cancer alone. I saw an ABer the other day (who shall remain nameless) say dying of covid was more horrible than dying of cancer. My mind boggled at the time.
The whole thing gets more and more shambolic, especially the tier changes - I mean today we see Hereford go back to 2 after a week or so in Tier 1 and the Isle of Wight go from 1 to 3 without stopping. It's almost like a board game.
