Hi Bobbs, just enjoying a new day.
Question Author
My wife always moans when I switch bank accounts. It is no big deal.
I've never done it
Is there a monthly fee if certain conditions such as paying in a minimum amount each month are not met?
Question Author
£3 monthly fee waived if payments in exceed £1500
// I am running out of banks, which one next year ?//

Santander 123 light account. £1 monthly fee and you get up to 3% in cash back on every DD you pay using the account. This is year after year and the cash goes on monthly. I average around £7 cashback per month as I have around 14 DD's coming out.
my 123 account does not do cashback on every DD - only mortgage, telecoms and utilities
but I still get about £11 pm for a £1 pm fee, so more than £100 a year
Pain in the bum switching bank accounts, I have too many people paying money in to my account every month.
Question Author
All monies continue to be paid in.
Sparkly, you have to notify them yourself. Direct debits out continue to be paid.
Question Author
Not correct Barry. Two state pensions and a private pension are transferred into switched account.
Sparkly, they won't inform the many people that pay money in to my account regularly, they are neither employers nor state bodies.

Many banks won't even inform the employer.

Not at all - I saw the posting for both jokes this morning , in latest posts - no trawling

As for sparklykid - it was a reasonable question given that he had posted about changing bank accounts for easy money and then subsequently posted again querying whether or not it was worth the hassle
I thought your earlier thread said it was a real pain and not worth the hassle?

So Lloyds, then?

Switching banks is a piece of cake. Done it loads of times to get the best of what's on offer (or, on one occasion, to show my disgust at shoddy service). Never had any problems. They will switch incoming payments so long as they are made by either a standing order or direct debit.
Wrong! If you get paid by direct credit you have to tell your customers your new details. If your new details are printed on your Invoices you have to change all those. They also don't inform Ebay, Amazon or any other online retail platform.
