Evening, Mamya and all..... Of all the shows I costumed this was one of my favourites. MrG loved it. His grandson played it on the sax at his funeral.....tapping feet and smiles all around......x
Coming from a musical family, Tony every flipping instrument was difficult for me. :-(
I had to learn to do a reel and a jig so I could at least do my turn at the gatherings. Jigs are out now but I can still just manage a reel....x
Oh my, gness, you've awaken memories having to "do your turn" at family ceilidhs. Once my Da had done "Annie Lawrie" and my Ma had done "The Rose of Tralee", I knew there was no escape!
Jim, me too! And with a voice that would curdle cream all I could do was dance. We still have those gatherings. Last wedding the cousins and siblings played and sang beautifully so the other talentless cousin and I had to do a two hand reel. Thank god I'd had a couple of pints of Guinness before I got up... :-)
What did you have to do?
