Hi Tony x

Good evening all

Evening Toorak x
Evening, Mamya and all..... Of all the shows I costumed this was one of my favourites. MrG loved it. His grandson played it on the sax at his funeral.....tapping feet and smiles all around......x

Difficult instrument to learn is the sax so I believe, gness.

I bought an alto sax about 25 years ago - still can hardly get a note out of it.
Coming from a musical family, Tony every flipping instrument was difficult for me. :-(
I had to learn to do a reel and a jig so I could at least do my turn at the gatherings. Jigs are out now but I can still just manage a reel....x
Some more jazz:
Oh my, gness, you've awaken memories having to "do your turn" at family ceilidhs. Once my Da had done "Annie Lawrie" and my Ma had done "The Rose of Tralee", I knew there was no escape!
Liked that, Sanmac...x
Keep practicing, Toorak. Copy Jr Walker ;-)

I learned to play three blind mice on the recorder, does that count gness.
Jim, me too! And with a voice that would curdle cream all I could do was dance. We still have those gatherings. Last wedding the cousins and siblings played and sang beautifully so the other talentless cousin and I had to do a two hand reel. Thank god I'd had a couple of pints of Guinness before I got up... :-)
What did you have to do?
Our family gatherings usually descended into “nobody’s child” :-(
About as much as me on the triangle at school, Tony...and even then I couldn't clang it at the right moment...x

My Mother's party piece was 'Galway Bay' she won a competition singing that.
Question Author
Blimey, Toorak...that's sad!

Gness - it truly is. I had an aunt who insisted on singing it at every opportunity :-(
