Apparently, some of the measures Boris will announce tonight are:

Shop Sunday opening hours everyday.
Possible complete closure 1 or two days.
No one allowed outside from 8pm-8am unless working.

The person who told me also claimed:
8am - Noon: Only over 60s allowed out (except exemptions).
12 - 6pm: 20-60yo and families with children. (except exemptions).
6-8pm: Under 20’s Only. (except exemptions).

I suspect the age restrictions might be later, and not immediately.

If any of that turns out to be true, it will be pretty strange.

it won't be Boris making the announcements though?
Gosh, I hope not. I work in a shop and can hardly cope with all the new rules and restrictions as it is.
If it's Sunday opening each day, that's six hours but eight til six is ten hours.

If folk aren't allowed out before 8am unless working, how do they get their messages at eight in the morning?
"Apparently" - says who?
Stupidity is rearing it’s stupid head.
All that sounds a bit daft.
If you reduce the shop opening hours you will get more people trying to shop at the same time, increasing the risk of contact, not lowering it.
It will have been posted on FB so its bound to be true lol!
Odd how none of those close to the Government is reporting this...
Sounds like a plan. It's chaos at the moment. Queuing at the bank, can't go in. Queuing to pick prescriptions up at Boots, can't go in.
400yd queue at Asda.
I blame Sherard. Ever since you started that blumming job......
So if you`re on the cust of 60 you can stay out all day. Result.
It would make more sense to lift the Sunday trading restrictions, so that supermarkets can stay open for longer on that day. Longer opening hours make it easier for shops to 'spread the load' of customers, so that they don't have to choose between long queues outside or congested aisles inside.

The age restrictions also sound potty too. We're already in a situation where everyone is meant to stay inside ('except exemptions') 24 hours per day, so those rules would actually meaning relaxing the present one!

FAKE NEWS, METHINKS!
*cusp*
Doesn't make any sense ... queues will be longer if opening hours are less......
we will wait and see, but because my partner is in a vulnerable group I go early or late to avoid people, so I hope not, don't understand how restricting shopping hours will achieve anything apart from more people congregating together, which I thought we were trying to avoid.

won't reducing the opening hours mean that the queues will be longer?
Yes
