A sister was cleaning her drawers and came across a beatiful letter and £150 inside the letter POSTED TO ABOUT 2006. fROM A GUY WHO WAS SO POOR AND POORLESS HIMSELF - AND =

The guy has died and now sister would like to do some worthy with it.

We have debated on it. What should she do - it wa s £100. I suggested giving to the homeless freezing and starting on the ground but she has her own opinion.

Any of your opinions would be welcomed. She is afraid that the money/gifts don't go TO their destinations. We are into HOMELESSHELP. i AM ONE FOR GIVING A FEW POUNDS TO THE GUYS LYING ON THE GROUND FREEZING, HUNGRY ETC ETC- OK IF HE NEEDS DRUGS - i FEEL ONCE YOU HAVE PARTED TO THE OTHER PARTIES - it is money to do what he wants to do.

Am confused. Is this cash you’ve found?
How about giving half the money to your nearest foodbank and the other half of the money to your local hospice?
Sorry Ive read and re read this and still don’t understand it.
Neither do I!
Not just me then lol
Well it's either £200 or £250 or thereabouts.
It has been in the drawer since 2006- or was it posted to 2006 people.
I assume it's cash especially as acheque dated 006 could be difficult to bank.
I am not sure there would be any point in giving a large sum to a homeless person unless you make sure it's used to say buy a bed for a few nights in a hostel. I think £100 to one homeless person would probably just be frittered away or lost/get stolen and wouldn't help tackle the issues. Only outreach worker/homeless charities can make a difference.
I'd give it to homeless charities and accept that yes some goes on admin and salaries but at least they are professionals in dealing with the issues
^ Sorry £100 or £150
Whether it’s £150 as you first state, or £100 as you state later, just give it to a local charity. Giving it directly to a homeless person would be reckless. They may even end up overdosing. I can’t find anything call HomelessHelp apart from in Toronto.

sorry for the confusion and for the caps. She received a letter in 2006 and inadvertently threw the envelope into the hall drawer that time. She decided to spring clean last week and found the envelope with £140 cash. She did want to give it to a deserving cause. Hope that explains.
I understand the Q as: sister has found letter with £150 from brother. Sis wants to donate £100 to charity!

Answer: Do NOT give cash as it will perpetuate drugs. Buy food to donate
I cannot work out how much was found as JJ has mentioned £100, £140 and £150.
But there are plenty of soup kitchens in Belfast why not donate it to one of them, I know of one that sets up on a friday night near Tomb Street £100+ would keep them going for a few weeks!
What a fuss.......just keep it.

What on earth is wrong with you Baldric, you are NOT the AB police, give it a rest, all the pickiness detracts from threads :/
Surely emphasis for one or two words is ok? Particularly as italics only work once per post. Just not for a sentence, maybe?
Oh he is Calicogirl. He displays his sheriff's badge at the drop of a hat.
He just strikes me as someone who doesn't have a cunning plan Douglas but it might be a cunning stunt :)
Just find some poor homeless person and give them the £100 what they do with it is up to them.
It's up to you, JJ... if you are giving it to individuals, I would split it up and give it to a few. Or find a charity, or keep it xx

Frankly my dear!
