Hi all,

I've been connecting my phone to my laptop to transfer files between the two for about a year.

About a week ago, I started getting the above message.

I've been connecting it several times since, and apart for the odd once or twice, I have been getting the same message. The phone still charges, it isn't recognised by my laptop.

Anyone any ideas why?, and how can I fix it?

TIA

Charging doesn't involve data. To state the obvious, something's up. Have you tried it on a different PC ?

Yes. My partner's phone does the same when I connect it.
That's a different ohone. But it does suggest a PC or lead/connection issue. Could try a different lead. Have you updated the PC since the last time the phones were recognised ? Does thd PC have the latest and uncorrupted drivers to connect to the phones ?
PHONE !!!!!!!
THE !!!!!!
Have you looked under connections from start menu (assuming its the same as desk-top) and tried search for new device.

Thanks all, I'll try your suggestions later (I've got to go out now).

Thanks again.
I was also going through with this problem about a couple of days ago. I found that the USB Device was not able to connect with the provided frequency. So I suggest that PLease Change the Device.

Changed the lead and it works again.

Thanks all.
