building your own base involves thinking outside the box - tbh, I'd have expected the British to have thought of that rather than Germans, who are not dumb but more accustomed to thinking inside the box. Or perhaps it was just too big for England's budget - they'd presumably have to borrow a lot to build something on that scale, even if they expected to get it back later on resale.

We are not talking Government (our) money here, there is enough money in British football and organisations who benefit from it, to pay for something similar as apparently has been done in Germany.

Perhaps Virgin boss Richard Branson, and others would care to contribute?

I wasn't suggesting government money should be used (it shouldn't); but I don't know that there's that much money in English football outside the clubs, and this isn't anything to do with clubs. Others may be able to clarify this as football isn't my thing. But the main problem, I imagine, is that nobody even thought of it, and it's far too late to do anything now.
I don't know whether traffic problems will be less for the Germans than the English; they both have to get to the grounds and Rio's roads are indeed pretty busy. But special lanes were created in London for Olympics traffic and Rio may do the same (they're practising for their own Olympics).

At least the England team aren`t polluting the environment by flying to matches in a private jet. Their hotel looks perfectly OK as well. I was in Dubai in February and was staying at the same hotel as Stoke City. The amount of time they spend enjoying the hotel`s facilities is minimal. They would appear at breakfast, disappear for training/matches and then spend a couple of hours on the beach in the afternoon. After dinner, they would disappear off to their rooms early. Their hotel looks perfectly adequate for that.
