Hi,

Hope somebody can shed some light onto this but i've currently got a xlr mic into a Xenyx 502 and then the output from the mixer into my pc.

Now to hear my mic through my pc i plug my headphones into the headphone socket into my pc. What i'm wanting to do instead of this is plug my headphones into the mixer and hear my pc and mic through the mixer and into my headphones. Can i take the audio from my pc and do it this way?

You can do what you want, but remember that you cannot pass any part of the signal through the mixer twice, without the amplification becoming unstable.

Therefore as your system is now, you cannot plug the output of the PC into one of the mixer channels and listen to the mixer output via headphones (because the mic signal will be passing through the mixer twice).

To realise what you want, you must plug the mic and PC as inputs to the mixer and then listen to both from the mixer output via headphones.

Although the above may not be what you want, since the mic signal is now not being seen (input) to the PC.
The mixer probably has a pair of RCA inputs. Connect these to your computer audio line out.

The pc out will also appear in the mix and potentially be feed back into the PC. Watch out for any potential feedback loops. Such loops via headphones and do serious damage to your hearing in a very short time.
