I am useless in the garden and don't really know flowers very well. What are your favourite smelling flowers?

I do have an ulterior motive for this question - I'm still looking for a perfume that smells like the aroma I smelt when walking through the gardens of Hever Castle several years ago. I know there is a perfume or maybe even a body lotion or deodorant, as I've smelt it since then when people have walked past me. I've spent loads of time in Boots and perfume shops smelling perfumes but nothing comes close.

I think I'm obssessed :o(

I should have said in my OP that I know the smell of roses, lavender and jasmine. It isn't those.

Does blossom smell?
Honeysuckle? what time of year were you there, tiggs?

(You could always ring 'em up and ask them.....)
Yes it does, apple blossom is a lovely scent, so is some magnolias.

I can't remember Boxy. It must have been late spring, early summer. I did wonder whether flowers had scents at different times of the years.
Yes what time of year, makes a big difference?
Jasmin in the evening for me.
Our neighbour's got a palm tree thing - when it flowers, it's oversweet, the bees love it!
Same as China, Jasmine in the evening. Absolutely gorgeous.
Choisia ( sp ) is sublime, others I like are sweet peas and sweet williams.

Jasmine reminds me of Cyprus. When I used to go there and visit family and friends, we'd sit in the garden in the evening with a sowing kit threading jasmine flowers into a chain. My nan had one round her neck most of the time.
Stock. Brompton and night scented especially.
How about Daphne odora which has a beautiful scent right now.
