New Kitchen & Late Floor Tiles.

Hi, I bought a kitchen from B&Q in late November, I also bought some floor tiles too for the kitchen and living room at the same time. Unfortunately we didn't receive the tiles tll February. We weren't told that the tiles were not in stock at the time of purchase, othewise I wouldn't have bought them.
We called up many times to chase the tiles but they couldn't give us a straight answer. Our Christmas was ruined as we wanted our kitchen all done and dusted before Christmas. On top of all this B&Q lowered the cost of their kitchens considerably just a few weeks after we bought ours, so we were hit financially too.
The stress made my mothers ill heath even worse. I wrote a letter of complaint to them and they said after doing their investigations they are willing to offer me £50 for my inconvienience, and said they wouldn't be offering any more than that, and I'm free to seek any advice on the matter if I wish. Should I accept this offer. It seems low to me but I'm not sure. I'd appreciate any help or advice on this matter.

Not qualified to say whether the offer should be accepted, but I'd advise not believing that because they dropped the price after you bought, that you were hit financially. It isn't so, and will just make you feel worse believing it. What happened was that you missed out on a better offer that would have been available had you waited. But you still ordered the products at a price your were willing to pay for them. They didn't demand further payment from you because they'd put the price up, or anything like that.
My advice would be to accept the offer.
In agreeing to purchase these items at an agreed price (consideration) you entered into a contract with the supplier, presumably there were no hidden defects in the goods and you did not specify a delivery date as time being of the essence or similar. A contract is a bargain freely entered and the courts are not concerned if it is a good bargain or not.
i agree with OG - you were not 'hit financially' just because had a price reduction a few weeks later.
that is irrelevant to your situation, and they certainly owe you no compensation for that.
If you allow the fact that someone delivered some tiles late to affect you in this way, then I don't wonder you expect compensation that equals more than you have been offered

Really, you had every right to cancel your order and buy else where which is what you should have done and what most normal people would have also done

Financially affected? How? You could either afford them at the price you paid or not.
I can't tell you how many times I've bought something only to find it cheaper in the sale later - that's tough luck.

Tbh leaving buying a kitchen until late November, you were lucky to have the kitchen in place by Christmas, let alone the flooring. Why didn't you just cancel the tile order and go elsewhere? I'd take the £50 and the tiles and write it down to experience.
