An engineer, a philosopher and an economist are stranded with several cans of food but they don't have a can opener.
Each puts forward their solution.
The engineer suggests ways to open the cans using an improvised device made from other items at hand.
The philosopher suggests that they should first discuss whether the cans should be opened at all.
The economist says "first let's assume we have a can opener".
