Renting a 0871 number.

I have just read online someone who was or is receiving nasty phone calls from a debt collector,so they have "rented" a 0871 number...I was really curious about this ,so Googled it.One can do this ...and..get paid everytime the number is used!!!How can this be???

That is why 0871 numbers cost more to ring and usually are excluded from included minutes in phone tariffs.

Yes.I have worked that out now,first could not see what they were getting out of it especially as they pay you...
I use saynoto 0870.com as advised to me by my phone service provider(landline) and I have saved an awful lot on my phone calls.

I use that service, too. I refuse to call non-geographical numbers, except for the free 0800 numbers.
