A real incident from the Parliament House in India:

A woman MP, a famous Bollywood heroine, was planning a visit to a hill station with her husband. She came to know that another MP had a cottage there which was unoccupied at that time. When she sought his permission to use his place, the latter agreed with a twinkle in his eye: " Just one condition: You should permit me to tell people that Nargis (the lady MP) slept in my bed!"

While Nargis has since passed away from cancer at the Sloan Kettering, the MP with the ribald sense of humour, renowned journalist Kushwant Singh, is still merrily writing his weekly column and doing the Crosswords at the age of 99!

Nox:
Nargis' husband Sunil Dutt, also a veteran actor, was a parliamentarian and was Minister for Sports & Youth Affairs. Their daughter Priya Dutt is now a Member in the Lok Sabha.
Yes I know that Chandamama, that was pretty much my point.
I'm sorry but I don't get this 'joke'. Is it in the wrong section?
Hellooooooo, look who's back, how ya doin Tilly, good hols ?
Hello. Yes thanks, Tony. A bit jet lagged today. I thought that might be why I don't get this joke.
Glad you enjoyed it Tilly, and no it's not because you are jet lagged !
Oh, that's all right then.

It is understandable that some may miss it on the first go.

The subtle pun is on the word 'my bed'

While using Singh's vacant cottage for her visit, the actress would be sleeping in the bed belonging to Singh.

Singh was joking that he would say that she slept in 'his bed' giving an erroneous impression.
Yes, but it's still not funny!
Yes weeellll........ lets move on.
