QE2 Playing Fields

To celebrate the Jubilee Year, some of our playing field and recreation grounds have been given special protection and nominated as QE2 Playing Fields. I was delighted to see a couple of our local ones given this status and protected as green spaces forever more.

That is until the Government decide to sell them off. I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.

Yes.
We voted for the nomination.
Won with most votes ...very high score in fact.
All managed by the local council.
Then ...oh yes Then ...the true incompetence of the local authority raised it's ugly head.
You see some idiot had not told the planning department and the only access to a lump of land they own for building development would be via a road being built through the nominated Jubilee park ....lol

They don't belong to the government Jeza, they're in Trust now. 2012 of them.

I hope they do the decent thing and at least nominate another green space for protection in place of this one.
