I saw Janis Ian live in Brighton a while back, Lynne - just her and her guitar. It was one of the best gigs I've ever seen, and that includes VdGG, Genesis (with Gabriel), Pink Floyd, Yes, ELP, Sparks etc...

You will, no doubt, be familiar with track 2: At Seventeen. Janis "suffers" from having had one massive hit to the extent where it is sometimes thought that that's all she ever did. cf "Whiter Shade of Pale", "This Town Ain't Big Enough for Both of Us" etc

Good recommendation, thank you - will send out hints for a pressie maybe lol, yes a few artistes have suffered that route, though I am ashamed to say I am not very aware of her, will alter that soon.
