short skirts

sitting in traffic this morning I was shocked at how many schoolgirls on their way to school had really short skirts on, not just one or two but all of the ones that passed me and that was quite a few, are they in competition with each other as to who can wear their skirt the shortest.

Despite not being a parent ("phew") I have it on good authority that they "roll" the tops of their skirts over, to make the skirt look shorter.

We had to kneel on the dais at the front of the classroom and the teacher would go along with her ruler to ensure our skirts were at the correct length. We would then return to our desks rolling over the waistband as we went.

I've noticed this too! At least the ones I've seen wear dark tights though!

It's nothing new....................I used to shorten my skirt after leaving home in the 60's.

its mainly done for fashion rather than impressing a teacher/boy, I know, my daughter wanted a short skirt, its all about fitting in and being part of the crowd.

Being at my nieces 13th birthday party recently made me feel so old (I'm not even 30 yet). All I kept thinking was, oh my god, how short are their skirts and was spying on the ones in the corner to make sure there was no snogging going on. lol

I don't think its a new thing... loads of girls at our school wore short skirts, when my daughter was at high school it was the same ...

i was perfick wore trousers or skirts down to me ankles, shirts buttoned up to me nose. never messed around, never went behind the bike sheds and always always did my homework.
