my daughter has her mate here, and her mate has dropped an almighty hint about having dinner here. (they are 17.)

I quite like her mate, but she is such a taker. she tags along for lifts everywhere but never offers one back to my daughter. she even waved to my daughter from her mum's car on her way to school, about 2 miles from school, and left my girlie to walk.

feed her, or not?

I'm starving, btw.

nope
Ask your son to cook for them, Sara ........... she'll never come again ;o)
Make her something awful to eat then she'll never drop almighty hints again
.....then make her walk home, go out in your car with your daughter and wave to the girl as you pass her

The Builder.. he's at his dad's tonight :o/

joeluke, I can't cook something different for her!

I'm sooo hungry..
Did your daughter not ask why did not pick her up?
I wouldn't, she sounds like a bit of a cheeky mare.
Question Author
actually joeluke, she doesn't live far but her parents will never pick her up, even when she leaves really late at night. I worry about her more than they do :o/
Question Author
daffy, spot on.

micmak, she asked. the girl said "my mum was in a really bad mood and wouldn't stop".

:o/
Question Author
I would have probably offered to feed her, but her not-so-subtle hint has annoyed me.
Tell her you & d'ter are invited to share my jellied eels :)
Sara, start feeding her and she'll expect that every time she's at yours
Can't you offer to drop her off home on your way to the Take-away shop of your choice?
Question Author
tambo, that's disgusting, but thanks ;o)

joeluke.. I know. I don't want to ask her to leave, but I want to cook.

I just got a piece of cheese and the bloody cat nicked a bit!

Tell her you're sorry but you need to go shopping before there is any food in the house, or you've only got enough in for you and your daughter.

This happened to my parents once - they'd bought the tiny poussins, three of them, for them and my sister (before I was born). What a treat to have a whole little bird each! - then a friend knocked on the door, and they felt obliged to share it out :-(
get the girls to cook.

Gooody; more jellied eels for me :)
Question Author
boxy, that's rubbish :o/

she'll know the fridge is full. they'll have already had their noses in their.

sometimes I get in from work and there are 2 dirty plates, so they've already had lunch on me..
