Are the Cardinals of Rome  actually now trying to choose a new Pope - or do they wait until after the funeral of this one.

Hi naughty, they have announced the enclave to elect the new pope begins on Monday.

Not all the cardinals are in Rome yet. The enclave begins 15 - 20 days after the death, and according to the newspaper I read that is going to be the case this time.
They are arguing about a press silence until then.
