Is it fair to the rest of us that smelly people who ride a motorbike which is an unsafe form of transport receive hospital treatment when they fall off.

Will they stop treatment to people who drink alcohol ?

This could be a very long list and save the country a fortune.

I'm a fatter ex-smoker who is having trouble losing the extra pounds since I stopped, what do I do, start smoking again?
Now if I was the 22 stone man who has the nerve to sue the NHS for his human right to a fat-cutting op. I would seriously try to reduce my own weight before demanding a gastric bypass. I hope he loses his case.

Should smokers be treated? Yes.

Why?

Last time I was in casualty, I'd come off my mountain bike, and the pedal gouged a lump of flesh off the front of my leg.

I was riding my MTB out of selfish pleasure. Should I have expected the NHS to stitch my shin back on if I came a cropper?

No. But they did.

Which was nice.

It's the same with smokers.

Strange how things change. In both world wars, and probably the smaller ones in between the Armed Forces were issued with cigarettes and tobacco. Not everyone who smoked needed hospital treatment then, apart from getting nuked by the enemy.
Even today some are lucky enough not to need treatment for what is called smoke related diseases. You cannot quantify a persons illness. Everyone should be treated, except perhaps the fat git who got himself to weigh 22 stone iI mentioned earlier.

There are Doctors who Smoke and there are Doctors who are overweight, should they be struck off and not allowed to treat Patients because of their indiscretions ?
There should be no discrimination but I suspect there is.
