And about time to, how have they managed to get away with this for so long, surely it is racial discrimination?

Have white children ever been prevented from being adopted by black parents?

It states that they must give due consideration to the child’s religious persuasion, racial origin and cultural and linguistic background.

Homosexual couples can adopt heterosexual children so what's the difference?

how does a adoption-age child know whether it's heterosexual?

Ideally I think it's best if a child is brought up with parents with the same ethnicity. However, if the choice is between being brought up in a home or having parents with a different background I think the family set-up wins hands down.
Statistically-there are more Black, and Asian children needing homes, while at the same time most adoptive parents are white, middle class. The most important thing is that children get homes with families who love them...race/colour should be secondary.
Basing adoption policies on racial backgrounds doesn't actually make sense - because a Nigerian child, in terms of ethnicity won't have that much in common with (say) adoptive Jamaican parents.

Broad brush strokes at play here.

sp1814 Knowing the feelings between Jamaicans and Nigerians, could you ever see a time when one would adopt the other's children?

And why is it that it is only the whites that tend to adopt, and are even prepared to adopt a child of a different ethnicity?
Why on earth would a white person want a black kid. ?!

Ask Madonna.

AOG - there isn't a large enough middle class of black and Asian families to support adoption. Because so many ethnic minority families are 'working class', the idea of taking on another mouth to feed is a non-starter.

I suspect that if you looked at the socio-economic backgrounds of adopters, you'd find that they are more likely to be middle class and White collar.

Strangely there ARE a significant number of black and Asian foster parents. No idea why.

I can't say that is the case amongst black families, but amongst Asian families there are vast numbers of 'middle class' parents.

Perhaps they are not prepared to take on permanent responsibility, but are prepared to foster, that way they can always hand them back.
