Why the silence II - The Sequel
Can we ask why there has been a suspicious silence from 'the usual suspects' on AB on this story?
If these paedophiles had been Muslim (as with the story from two days ago), would it have been a legitimate area to discuss?
I acknowledge I'm playing the same silly game as the rampant Islamophobes, bit hopefully, the point should be obvious.

aog claimed on his own post that lefties were always quick to point the finger at white men raping Muslims but ignored it when the opposite occurred. I invited him to give some examples. He didn't answer (as usual), but sp1814 has obligingly posted one here and inquired why the likes of aog hadn't done so. Fair question; the question is not really about the crime but about the responses to it.

I'm actually in Philadelphia at the moment, interviewing/training people to join my new team...so I concede - I'm a few hours ahead of the curve.

As I posted on another thread yesterday, do yo think it's fair to say that when a gang of White padophiles is caught, they are simply referred to as paedophiles, but when the group is not white, their ethnicity becomes part of the story and therefore elicits an inappropriate response?

It is no more or less serious if committed by a white person, a Muslim, a French person a German or whatever.
AOG, I challenge you to go a week on AB and not mention the race, religion or colour of the subject of any matter you post on, as it really makes no difference to the story and is always surplus to requirements.

unlikely. mostly because of the language barrier. if however, you stormed in there and were agressive, then no doubt most might say you deserve that spear.

If you had been following the particular series of events surrounding those paedophile predators, you would have noticed that there is a growing problem of some Pakistani men in the North and the Midlands,.going around in gangs preying on young girls, this is a fact and just because they happen to be Pakistani it can't be ignored.
You seem to have an hang-up about colour, so are you saying that regarding the 'black on black' crime problem in London, the perpetrators should not be reported as being black?
This is a predominately white country, so it stands to reason in some descriptions the skin colour will be entered, and if it isn't it is taken for granted that they are white?

However, it was not necessary to get up early to post on the subject: the news was around yesterday afternoon. Clearly, sp1814 decided to give you 12 hours in which to begin a thread, and when you mysteriously failed to do so, he did it himself.

Now this I have to disagree with, for one thing this would constitute a certain amount of censorship on the reporting, which is not quite British.

To a certain extent I would agree, but in other ways I disagree.
For instance, If a type of crime is committed extensively by a certain group say in these completely hypothetical examples,
A muslim group plan to carry out a terrorist attack, then obviously this fact has to be reported.
A Frenchman is laying siege to the entrance to the Channel Tunnel.once again it must be reported.
A German doctor is found holding Neo-Nazi meetings in his back office in Harley Street, must be reported.
There is a problem of black on black stabbings/shootings in London, must and does get reported on.
And finally in the recent cases concerning Pakistani gangs abducting young girls. This is a growing trend in the Midlands and the North, why just Pakistani men? It is a problem, and the reasons why must be found, how else can it be reported?
