So, plain John Taylor or Lord Taylor of Warwick, a title bestowed on him by a gullible nation, is one more politician to be charged with fiddling their expenses.

This high honour wasn't good enough for him however, he eligibly lied, to steal £11,000 by false accounting.

If, he is found guilty (and I don't suppose otherwise) , he should go to jail for a reasonable length of time.

It's hard to believe. I'd have thought politicians were above that sort of thing.

Tories Zac Goldsmith and Lord Taylor were in the news yesterday for fiddling their invoices and cheating us. How did I know which one AOG would post about?
he hasn't been charged with anything, so saying he lied is libellous and you may be sued for your life savings. Saying you meant to write 'allegedly' but accidentally typed 'eligibly' is unlikely to save you from the poorhouse.
The public must have seen through him when he failed to get elected for the Tories at Cheltenham So what do they do with failed politicians, give them a Lordship.

Now that Brown has lost all influence in the Commons maybe the Lords is the next best thing for him. Like Mandelson he would be able to exert power without the voters being consulted.
if "he eligibly lied" then he was entitled to do so (pedantry works both ways)

Knowing your hang-ups, I suspect your dig at me refers to the fact that he happens to be black.

Firstly, it may have been yesterday news but we are not held down by dead lines on this site.

Now let me correct you, I posted this case not because he is black but because he is a peer of the realm not just the ordinary fiddling MP, but then we all know that you along with others do not like anything derogative to be posted about blacks.

Perhaps this is the reason you did not mention Lord Taylor's case when you answered LazyGun's question, or accused LazyGun of only posting Zac Goldsmith's misdemeanor.

Incidentally I should be careful, Zac Goldsmith and Lord Taylor were in the news yesterday because they only stand accused of "fiddling their invoices and cheating us".

Eligibly' when I meant Allegedly, yes I hold my hands up, stupid mistake.

But jno before you correct a person make sure your own house is in order.

A sentence begins with a capital letter.

This also refers to bibblebub, I notice.
What I posted wasn't a sentence (notice the lack of a full stop?), it was the written continuance of a thought.

A 'written continuance of a thought'? Well that is a new one on me.

It was a statement by you, so therefore it should have began with a capital letter, and ended with a full stop.
my first sentences never begin with a capital letter except in the case of proper nouns. This is to give literary critics something to go on when they compile an edition of my collected works after my death, or to help the Ed if he suspects me of trolling under another name.

/// Or to help the Ed if he suspects me of trolling under another name.///

Such as bibblebub, perhaps?
oH DEAR jno WE'VE BEEN RUMBLED.,;:?
You've Given The Game Away, You Fool!
Question Author
Yes it was the missing capital letter that did it.
