Anyone tried it?

You know those silly spam type emails you always get? Anyone ever replied? I have to admit to a new hobby i've recently started and it's hilarious!

I'm currently starting a romance with a guy from Scotland (yeah right) who just so happens to be currently in south africa (get away, who'd have thunk it?) for the world cup.

I'm gleefully and sadistically having a blast. He so far hasn't gone beyond confessing his love for me, well im loaded as im living off my late husbands inheritance- what's not to love? He hasn't, as yet, got round to asking me for money.

Yes im probably going to go to hell for it, but this is awesome fun, will keep you all updated ;-)

lol,
good for you, B00, its about time they found that their scams can fail.
You'll probably like this site: http://www.419eater.com/index.php
It's full of people winding scammers up.
oh like Maurice from chatterbox who thinks I am alovely laydee and who is breaking his heart because I don't make nice replies.... ....and his frind Raymond 58 who wants so much to meet nice englishwoman ... Never thought of telling them fairy stories could be fun.....

I'm having a ball Red, his latest email is asking whether id relocate to another country to be with the man I love.

Weeeee, I've pulled!
easier to keep the romance alive online than in real life, I find
I answered one, supposedly from a Russian girl called Katya or some such ruskie name. 'she' was looking for a nice man to 'correspond' withm, and hopefully meet up with, with a view to a 'relationship'.

I replied, telling her off for putting herself in such a potentially dangerous position and this was no way of going about finding a 'nice' man. (Substitute the words rich and vulnerable for nice and genuine.

I didn't get a reply............

That's what started it off Square, i found that site through nosiness, read up on the stories from there, laughed myself silly then thought "I'm gonna do this myself!"

One of the guys from romance section, is my guy- think he's in love ;-)
I replied to one of the "Nigerian scams". I said the percentage of the money they were willing to give me was far too much. I also said my accountant would be willing to help them invest the money here in the UK.
We eventually arranged for me to meet his agent in Heathrow airport. I wonder if the agent turned up?
oh, was that you, salla? I was put off by your patronising tone and decided I didn't want to meet you after all.
Question Author
i recommend doing it Salla.

Grab yourself a throwaway email address, make up a fantastic personna (remember to throw in you're rich at the 1st opportunity) then go to town.
Isn't it a bit silly opening those emails in case they have spyware or malware virus's attached?
Admarlow done it. He got someone to hold up a sign saying 'farewell to AnswerBank'

I've got the book somewhere....it's very funny.
"Isn't it a bit silly opening those emails in case they have spyware or malware virus's attached? "

Anyone who opens the attachments is a fool but these scams are mostly plain text. You know the sort, "I am an ex-Nigerian president. Please take my gold".

In a similar way, I always fill in the bank details ones with false info. That way they scammer has rubbish to filter through and will hopefully get bored. At least this offers a bit of protection to the numpties who actually fill these in for real.
Question Author
Why would you open any attachments anyway?

I'll see if i can find the post you're talking about Square.

He keeps mentioning his daughter- we laying bets at which point this daughter will get a life threatening illness that costs lots of ££££ and could i help? ;-)
Boo are you sure you are Scam Baiting when replying to these emails. And not Master Bait**g He He
Question Author
Pardon?
Sorry just feeling naughty ;-)
LMAO a way to pass the time I suppose.
I've got about 30 of the idiots on the go. Join 419eater.com. But please please please bait safe (no need to tell YOU that B00) if you've got a throwaway address (gmail or hushmail are good). There are some great things you can do for "lad pain" when they ask for money.

Have you checked his IP to see where he really is?
Question Author
I know where he currently is Barmaid, as i said i got his details from the Eater forum above. And yes Im curently using gmail, so im safe ;-)

I've sent his a pic of Martine McCutcheon as he's desperate to see the "real" me, well im only too happy to oblige him, lets see if the lovely Martine can wet his appetite further- did i mention im currently living off my dearly departed wealthy husbands inheritance?
