Oxbridge Clones ?

To be a viable PM today it appears necessary to conform to a political stereotype of being a presentable white male, good media performer in your early forties with an Oxbridge background - like Blair, Cameron and Clegg. The 4 male Labour Leadership contestants conform to that stereotype to the point of being clones. Diane Abbot's nomination seems a fig-leaf to ensure that certain boxes are ticked, and she'll lose because she doesnt have sufficient support and doesnt conform to the stereotype - even though she has an Oxbridge education.

Are there any significant differences between the 4 male candidates ?

And

What will any of the 5 candidates , if chosen as Leader, bring to the Labour Party to meaningfully differentiate it from the Cameron and Clegg Coalition ?

Looks like Labour needs a progressive (?) change in Leadership and that the Millibands (Ed &David), Burnham and Balls are all much of a muchness and wont provide any real change - or do any Labour supporters know otherwise ? And does Diane Abbot have even an outside chance ?

What new goodies will any of them provide to seriously compete with the coalition ?
They are all visually similar, Cameron and Clegg could be siblings going by their looks.
The trouble with Oxbridge graduates is that they are told if you want to get on don't get your hands dirty. That's the main reason engineering has been on the decline in Britain and has such a low esteem.

This doesn't happen in France and Germany where engineers are given equal respect.
