i have a tender finger!
It's my index finger, and the end joint. It feels as though it's very badly bruised, yet it isn't - nor is there any swelling. It is really tender though, today when opening carriers at the supermarket (if you can imagine that action!) it was quite sore and i struggled to do it.

I can't go to the dr and say 'i've got a poorly finger' I'd feel a right muppet!
I thought that maybe it's just arthiritis or something (I'm 45) and could treat it myself. I don't know whther to use it or rest it.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you ♥

////How long has it felt like this?////You know very well that I have felt like this for years.
When shall we elope?
If it doesn't ease after a week or so then see a GP just to get an opinion on what it is.
Don't wish to worry you but life doesn't begin at forty. You'll probably be collecting aches & pains from here on in <evil laugh> And yeah, simple pain killer to allow you to continue gentle use/exercising it is probably a good idea.
I never refer to you as an 'it' Sqad.....but anytime this weekend if you're free :-)
ummmm LOL...I would hate to disappoint you ;-) Not a patch on ginger would I be.

i have been on anti depressents for donkey's years, but I wasn't worried about my finger, just want to ease it. I never thought about ibuprofen - thanks, i'll try it.

BTW my husband said all the little aches and pains we get are the cells in our bodies slowly dying.

mmm... good job I'm on them pills! he's such a comfort! LOL
I had a similar thing years ago. I went to the Dr and he said that I'd done something to it and forgotten (like finding a bruise you had no idea about) He said fingers take ages to heal and gave it 6 months. He was right...it took ages. Never did know what I'd done to it either!!
Thats so weird! Since yesterday I've had exactly the same symptons in my left thumb. Its really painful, hurts to write.

I cant think that I've done anything particular to hurt it and theres no swelling. It just hurts at the lower joint.

Oddly enough I've had a pain in my right elbow for a few months. It hurts when I raise a cup of tea for a sip.

Since turning 40 I've started falling apart :-(
