I can already hear & see what people will be saying about Cameron and his merry men, but just remember who voted them in. . . . . YOU! He isn't even Prime Minister material Blair would have him jumping through hoop's just like all the rest of the Conserative leaders Blair dispossed of during his time at Number 10. I Dont think Brown is the greatest PM we have had but he doe's have a brain, Cameron will just dig this country deeper into to depression.

We'll see. I have no confidence personally that it would have got any better if Labour had stayed in.
I'm not even going to waste a thought to this.

Happy anniversary for tomorrow Boxy
Don't be fooled. The real people who carry out the work are unseen civil servants. The government may change but they carry on working as before. The programs shown recently on the BBC showing the workings of The Treasury, and the Home and Foreign Ofiices of state was an eye opener.

Politicians may be good communicators but they rely heavily on back office staff suggesting policy and putting it into effect.

One statement by Alan Johnson said it all. The politician takes the praise when things go right and also take the flak when things go wrong.

Thatcher was an exception as she thought she knew more than the staff below her and caused massive grief.

Have to agree, Steve. Cameron cannot offer Clegg enough because his right-wing grass-roots won't stomach voting reform.
>doe's have a brain

Since when does the word "does" have an apostrophe in it ?

Does is one word, it does not need a ' before the s
> but he does have a brain

If he has a brain, and was so good at running the country, he would not have put the country in such debt he had to borrow 163 BILLION pounds last year.

Even Greece, who are totally bankrupt, only had to borrow 100 billion

(Yes I know the bankers did their bit, and Greece has a smaller economy than us, bit 163 billion is still a huge amount of money)
What is this 'YOU'? I certainly didn't vote for him, although I'd rather have him up front than 'he who would be king' (give up and go home Gordon - the boat's sailed without you. You ain't gonna catch it now").

Just wondering where this idea comes from that Brown has a brain. Or did you miss out the word 'cell'?
"The programs shown recently on the BBC showing the workings of The Treasury, and the Home and Foreign Ofiices of state was an eye opener. "

It showed frequent tension between civil servants and politicians rather than civil service domination of them. You always need to take programs like that with a pinch of salt as they will tend to exaggerate their conclusions a bit.

Actually, I partially agree with Chris. Cameron is a total lightweight - he is far less intelligent than either Blair or Brown (who I'd say lacks in competence more than he lacks in intelligence). The only thing he has going for him is that William Hague is standing nearby.

He is, however, almost certainly going to be the next PM. My keen elven senses are already being violently disturbed by the swearing at the TV in my flat in the years to come.
unfortunately Blair was also a scheming lying 2 faced rat who would say anything to get into power and then back track and then walked away when he knew the ship was about to sink
