Not defending his behaviour - but it was dodgy ground for the conviction.. and the 'victim' remains anonymous - despite some very contradictory claims....

I read somewhere she had no confidence since the 'rape' and didnt dare to go out at all- was a shadow of her former self.. yet apparently her facebook page held photos of her out on the Fosters weeks AFTER the alleged 'rape'

Disgusting if she has made this all up - to try and get him convicted... shame on her.... no respect for women who REALLY do get assaulted...

as i have said before it makes "real" victims to afraid to come forward and report their attack
They should either both be anonymous or both be named, I don't mind which. At the momement the accused can be dragged through the mud even when innocent.
One would hope that cases like this would serve as warnings to young men AND young women against getting themselves caught in the sort of situation where such a prosecution can result.

I wasn't present in the courtroom, so only have the newspaper reports to read, however, her behaviour after the rape seemed to belie the impact she claimed it had had on her, which undermined her case.

I believe either both or neither should be named in rape cases.
Totally agree with R1Geezer - either both anonymous or neither - name the defendant only if convicted
I read that her friends knocked on the door to ask if she was all right and she said she was fine, she also stayed at the house after the alleged attack to wait for her friends there was just no way you would hang around if you'd just been raped.I think tweed is a Snag but its wrong to name someone before convicted this will hangover him for a long time to come as some people will have a no smoke without fire attitude.
Agreed trionam

and even more will just have a vague "jack tweed? weren't you involved in some rape case years ago?" attitude that sticks to someone for years.

the guy's a muppet but this seems undeserved.
