I cannot understand why he has lasted as long as he has.

How a person with such openly extreme left wing views as his, was allowed to host a national radio show, was unbelievable, if he had been a member of the far-right he would have not been allowed.

George Galloway, would not allow open debate on his show, unless the caller agreed with everything he said. Those that disagreed with his views were personally insulted, by being called a "Blockhead" or "Brain Dead" etc. before he ended the call.

If this is the type of radio show people want then fair enough, but make it a balanced show, with presenters from all sides of the political spectrum.
Oh dear poor old george. Since losing his friend Saddam who he admired so much he has been looking around for other like minded souls to embrace and Hamas were ideal.
I have never listened to TalkSport or Gorgeous George's Show.

But I believe the rules are that someone fighting for a seat in a General Election is not allowed a Radio or TV show on grounds of impartiality. If he could freely speak his views, that would be seen as an unfair advantage over his rivals.

AOG. He functions as a 'shock jock'. He could be extreme right wing (most of the ones in the US are), it doesn't matter, because the format works by being as controversial and out of step with the mainstream as possible.

It is unclear whether it has been permanently axed. An statement on his website reads:

// George Galloway's 'The Mother of All Talk Shows' will have the last broadcast on talkSPORT radio before the general election this Saturday 27th March 2010. The date of the next broadcast is uncertain, but George aims to bring back the show as soon as possible, including, if necessary, as an internet broadcasted show. //
Welcome Gromit2 I do hope we get along better than the original Gromit and I do.

This is Britain not the US, can one imagine a member of the BNP being allowed to host a talk show?

Although both James Whales and Jon Gaunt leaned more to the right, they were not far right, but Talk Sport soon got rid of them.

Yes I know the excuse regarding James Whale, was because he broke the rules of broadcasting, by making a political comment, during election time.
Hold on there I notice that Gromit1 & Gromit are one of the same.

What gave you away?

I noticed the two slashes at the beginning and end of the statement.

I first used three slashes to denote when a passage was from another source, only to be later copied by Gromit who used two slashes.
AOG

The slashes were a good idea in the absence of the italic function, I did copy them But gladly give you credit for their invention. Your time on here has not been entirely a waste of time. (Yes it is the old Gromit).
The BNP have been given airtime, most notably on QuestionTime. On that performance though, when the far right mouthpiece could barely string two sentences together, it would be extremely unlikely that he would be given a radio show.
Why the change of name Gromit1, Gromit wasn't banned, when his recent post was removed, was he?

We know it is against AB's rules to have more than one user-name, so is Gromit gone forever?

Nick Griffin's was used as the "sacrificial lamb" when he appeared on Question Time, and not given the chance to voice his views.

Anyone can hold down the job as a talk radio host, if he is free to voice his own views and refuse to listen to any others.
AOG

The idiot responsible for moderating this site does not know the difference between satire and racism. All of my threads and posts have been removed. If Gromit is gone forever, I may have to reconsider whether I spend any of my time on here.

Anyone can talk on the radio but not everyone can be entertaining. People seem to be complaining already about his replacement.
I and I think others will join me in saying "that we are sorry to hear of the demise of Gromit"

Although it was very really we agreed with each other, you have spent many hours on this site, and did in fact become a valuable asset in constructing many lenghthy and enjoyable debates.

Although at times Gromit I had need to correct you on being somewhat very personal and insulting, and at one stage I even had need to issue you with an AOG, ASBO,. But others have been equally, if not more personal and insulting and in my opinion deserved to be banned from the site much more than you.

All I can say now is, please carry on as Gromit2, but try to curb your behaviour a little, after all although one may not always agree with others views, but they should be allowed to express them, without being insulted etc.

I have watched him on the 515 Press Channel on Sky and he is more biased than the Hamas, and the Fatah, spokesmen. It is never a debate whenever anyone disagrees with him he cuts them off with cutting remarks. I never watch for more than 5 minutes it is pointless, it is just George on an ego trip. The only time George got it right was when he was grovelling on the floor in Big Brother.

Never listened to the show, I dislike the man personally and I'm not enamoured with his politics.
The fact that he exists and gets publicity is a testament to this country's strength.
I always remember seeing him on "Question Time" on B.B.C and a woman disagreed with him, he tried to beraye her with his trademark bombacity but she gave as good as she got.
I realised then that he's little more than a bully, not many people could have withstood that on national T.V, disliked him ever since.
"if he had been a member of the far-right he would have not been allowed."

More people are offended by the Far Right than they are of the Far Left.

Also, Michael Portillo and David Mellor have presented BBC programmes, and they're not exactly moderate Tories.
>George Galloway, would not allow open debate on his show

While no fan of GG I always found him fair and willing to give other listeners a chance to have their say.

Gaunty was the one who always cut people off or talked over them.
>More people are offended by the Far Right than they are of the Far Left.

Yes becase the far left produced such wonderful people as Stalin, Chairman Mao, Pol Pot and so on.

I am always amazed how the left put themselves on their pedestal when critisizing the right as though the left is perfect and without fault.

In atrocity terms Stalin was a far "worse" leader than Hitler and was probably responsible for far more deaths (many his own countrymen).
Ian Collins is good. 10pm week evenings
