How totally petty this woman has been, although he did in fact pinch the biscuits, was it worth him going to court and losing his job and his previously good character for?

Would a chap have kicked up so much grief if a female colleague, had pinched his biscuits?

I only hope Ms Harrison is now made even more "insecure" by the other call-centre workers, and no one else "invades her privacy", in fact I hope they keep well away from her.

Are you henpecked AOG - You seem to not like women much?
I can't find any other news agency with details of this story, but I wouldn't have thought it was as simple as the article states.

The article mentions that when he was first accused he denied all knowledge, but later admitted he did (presumably when the video evidence was provided). Why would you do that if you presumed that you were innocent?

It also mentions taken 'from her desk'. There is no mention whether this is taken from laying on her desk, or if indeed he went through her drawers to find them (and why would you think that biscuits left on a colleagues desk would be 'for communal use' is beyond me).

This stinks to high heaven, and it looks to me like he (and the Mail) are putting a spin on it - him, because he wants to get another job, and the Mail, because it demonstrates to their readership that the world has gone mad!
You wonder why they had to check CCTV footage. Why wouldn't he just own up to taking them if he thought they were communal? And then he wasted time and money by doing the same with the court - only admitting guilt at the last minute.

it's bit rich to start playing the honesty card once he's caught.

Of course, we're only hearing his woe-is-me side of the story here. The Mail didn't even attempt to get comment from Pamela Harrison or Convergys, which is pretty shoddy.
All part of this Governments plot to criminalize as many as possible so making them more in control.

This is absolutley farcical, especially in the light of so many light sentences and letoffs for 'real' crimes.

Lets hopMs Harrison is happy with herself. What an ass she is. This fgoes on all the time in an office, some g*t nicked my grapes out the fridge the other week and someone else (perhaps the same person ) got my milk and Chilli sauce. Excuse me I must go and tell HR, they must be on the starting blocks to get the CCTV out
and there was me thinking "biscuits" was an euthamism or the AB swear filter had kicked in ...
///All part of this Governments plot to criminalize as many as possible so making them more in control. ///

That pesky government, making stealing illegal!

Seriously though, wow, what paranoia. A call centre worker is charged with theft under a Government conspiracy!

That really does take the biscuit.
'I work in a pub now where I am trusted with the keys. I am not a dishonest person.'

- Yes you are, you steal peoples biscuits.

/// Are you henpecked AOG - You seem to not like women much? ///

What an absolute ridiculous assumption to come to, if I was henpecked I would be too frightened to speak out about women.

Regarding not liking women, yet another absolute ridiculous assumption to come to again. I have been happily married for 55 years, and I still love her to bits, so I must like at least one woman.

Is one not allowed to criticise some women now, also?

Would you have asked me if I disliked all men, if I had criticised a particular man?

So before you next try and have a cheap dig at me, please think it out first, because you make yourself sound so silly.

Now I agree, there is reason for a conviction here. :0 )

AOG

Please notice the question mark, I asked a question. I did not make a definite statement.

Slight difference to how you interpreted it isn't it?
Question Author
Yes I was wrong to state "What an absolute ridiculous assumption to come to" to your question.

/// Are you henpecked AOG?/// was the question.

But I was correct in the second instance.

/// You seem to not like women much /// was the assumption.

Can you now answer my questions?

"Is one not allowed to criticise some women now, also"?

"Would you have asked me if I disliked all men, if I had criticised a particular man"?
It's not just AOG. Certain people DO seem to have a problem with women, just as they do with black people, gays and immigrants (among others).

They seem to resent any demographic groups that they don't fall into and can't bear to see these groups rewarded, favoured, or even praised. I don't know whether that's insecurity, or a mean spirit.

It might be less about how they see these groups and more about how they see themselves. They try to protest that they're just concerned with equal treatment and fairness, but it's not like us white, English, straight males need sticking up for. We do have it pretty easy - and those who protest otherwise seem scared of any change to the status quo, because they don't feel able to handle the modern world.

It's theft.

Why do people think that it wouldn't be theft if someone takes someones biscuits but it is if they had taken a car. The monetry cost of the item is irelevent. The punishment may be less or more depending on the item(s) talen but the crime is the same.

Stealing is stealing and the fact that half a brain cell individuals on here are demeaning that tells of the worrying mentality of individuals in this country belittling crimes they do as nothing.
'' All part of this Governments plot to criminalize as many as possible so making them more in control.''

LOL - so presumably if the ' conservatories ' get in they will repeal the law in order that theft is not a criminal offence offence ?

youngmafbog - I know you dont like this government , but do try and be rational in your comments - you do sound like a Snag some times .
' snag ? ' - AB censor at it again , i see .

The word i typed was t-w-a-t

Why the need to enter a passage outlined above? Some people just cannot join into a discussion, without the need to be offensive and aggressive.

One therefore must first question the mentality of the poster.
.
I wonder if socket has ever stole anything in their life?

Maybe an apple as a kid? Or a pencil or pen from their place of employment? A sheet of paper, or a paper clip? or perhaps their employer's time to indulge in AB?

But then stealing is stealing whether one has one brain cell or not. I bet that has got everyone thinking what they have stole today, while socket sits firmly on the moral high-ground.
