Hello,

When you have other incomes such as a pension, wages are usually taxed at basic rate (BR). You may want to call HMRC to discuss your individual tax situation to check you are on the right tax code. They could then always issue form P6 to your employer if the tax code is wrong.
Better still....go into your local tax office. It will be sorted there and then. They are very helpful.
it depends what your private pension is worth...if it's less than £6030.00 you are being taxed at the wrong code.
