When I saw the Telegraph headline yesterday I thought the Armed Forces Bishop was either saying something deliberately controversial to announce his new appointment, or he was completely out of his depth. Sadly, with this groveling apology, it would appear the later.

The Press will leap on any such comments which appear to praise our enemy. The fact that they constantly undermine our cause themselves seems to pass them by.

He should be sacked from his appointment forthwith.

Let him say what he likes as an ordinary Bishop, but it is completely wrong and insensitive to say such things as the Bishop to the armed forces.
