Whilst I admire his stamina as a professional Premiership player for all these years..............surely there were others far more deserving of the trophy ?
who?
-- answer removed --
well copied twatski.....
Individuals in the main ; Jessica Ennis, Philips Idowu, Tom Daley, Beth Tweddle, David Hay............

As I've said, I admire Giggsy but he is a team-player, after all...........
did he really win it? just because hes retiring
Hellooo!!!!! :)

Should have put yer money on - tee hee !!!

Well deserved- to maintain premiership peak of fitness constanly for half his life -superb- plus he is modest.Well done.
he's retiring?..............he's just been offered another contract....
I can't believe anyone seriously thought he'd win. He certainly didn't. And the studio audience clearly gasped when he was declared the winner. Thing is soccer is the most popular sport in the UK and Man Utd are the most popular club. So, when he was short-listed, the masses of footie fans got on the phone. There will also have been an element voting simply because Giggs was not tipped to even make the Top 3 - the same kind of underdog voting which shocked The X Factor final tonight as well. I suspect that in years gone by this decision might have been secretly altered by the powers-that-be, but with all the recent voting scandals no broadcaster dare do that now.
Olazabal's presentation to Ballesteros was both amusing (particularly the way he pronounced sitting) and heart-breaking. I'll also never forget the way Flintoff stared admiringly at Ennis as she collected her 3rd place award. Like the cat that wanted the cream.
I thought there were more gasps when Jenson Button came second. He proved in the second half of the season he is not a racer. He won the world championship because of a superior car and later the other manufacturers caught up.

I think you'll find everyone gasped when Button was declared runner-up because he'd been hot favourite to win. Not because he was lucky to come second.
Murray reached No.2 in the World but then slipped back to 4. There's justifiable expectation he'll make No.1 and win a Slam or two in 2010, then he can also expect to raise this trophy. British people who dislike Murray are plain dim.
I think we'll wait until Andy Murray wins a grand slam before we start partying hard................

Ha ha -such sore 'losers'.I said Giggs would win during the week on Sports and CB as well.

Its not rocket science -its nothing to do with Man U -he quite simply is a superb sportsman who has maintained the highest form of fitness for his adult life.

Why are people detracting from a well earned victory?

Sad in a way..........
at least it wasn't Murray
True -he hasnt peaked yet.
"True -he hasnt peaked yet."

Nah ... just a miserable g1t ... no matter how hard he tries to be likeable
