/////" She was so outraged that she wrote to U.S. President Barack Obama complaining of her treatment, saying: 'I feel as though you could relate to my situation'."////////

////." But the 22-year-old backed down after a public outcry at her complaints, apologising to fellow students and admitting she may have overreacted."/////

Typical of us, apologising even if we are not in the wrong.

Pathetic....
Disgraceful.

Why the hell these black students want to lower themselves to become equivalents of racist whites is beyond me. They should hang their heads in shame for their shortsightedness and especially for allowing this to happen.
I'm awaiting a post along the lines of:

"Racism works two ways. But no one ever points out racism that's aimed at white people."

Only, they do. All the time. Such as on this site. Every day.

Once we've got over the shock of that, can we all get over the tit-for-tat approach and agree that racism is never a good thing?
Typical of us?

Are we American beauty Queens?

What has this got to do with race relations in the UK?

Another non story and pointless AOG thread.

I knew a report such as this would upset you

First let me explain seeing that you once again are finding it very hard to comprehend my meanings.

When I referred to it being "Typical of us"? It was obvious (if not to you) that I was referring to the white race in general and not only to white American beauty Queens.

This is not another non story and pointless AOG thread, as you would like to describe it, and I don't care if it happened in Timbuktu, this is out and out racism, and needs to be discussed in the open

And i feel sure that if you had found an equal report such as this, only with roles reversed, you would have been only to quick to post the link no matter what country it happened in. Even though you would do what you always do, and that is to post your question without personal comment, and then see which way the cookie crumbles before committing yourself.

Incidentally where in my post does it refer to it being on race relations in Britain?
I am interested in the novel concept of 'reverse racialism'. Details, please.
Actually AOG, it seemed like a fair enough quetion to me.

Your use of the word 'us' was ambiguous, but revealing.

If a white American had a dispute with a black English person, which would you refer to as 'us'?

Actually, no need to answer. ;-)

They should hang their heads in shame for their shortsightedness.

Let me correct you

They should hang their heads in shame for their RACIALISM.

"equivalents of racist whites" you have got to be joking, we are not even in the same league as the blacks.

I am only too willing to admit, when it comes to racism. you beat us hands down.

Although you don't like to admit it, you are yourself a master.

Doh!!!!! Then why bother asking me the question, afraid I may not have the answer you wish for.

Yes it is novel isn't it ? It is so novel you never or very really hear of it.

But I won't damage your rose tinted specs or introduce you to the real world, so on this occasion for your sake I won't bother in explaining.
way to go, aog, don't answer awkward questions.

Typical of 'us'

Is that the way you think of British society, AOG - if you are 'white' , you are 'us' - if you are non 'white' you are 'one of them ' ?
anotheoldgit

"Although you don't like to admit it, you are yourself a master."

What?

Of racism?

No, no, no sir. You're not fooling anyone with that kind of bating.

That statement is amusing, and untrue. You and I know that you are thoroughly bigoted and racist. I don't mind that - everyone has their faults. Yours is that you play the race card at every given opportunity. Check your posts over the past month and total up the number where you criticise blacks and Asians.

I really have no problem with those posts. They're thought provoking, and welcome, but please, please, please do not try to tar me with that brush. It's silly. You know that you're a bigot. I know it, and anyone even casually glancing at the News section knows it.

This is who you are - embrace your small-mindedness. It's not the worst thing in the world. You're not a rapist, paedophile or wife-beater. Just because you're bigoted, doesn't make you a bad person.*

(*except of course, it really does).

Could you please answer Quinlad's interesting question:

"If a white American had a dispute with a black English person, which would you refer to as 'us'? "

Who in that situation would 'us' be?

<sits back and waits for what will no doubt be the mother of all squirming>
One more question...why do you refer to this as 'reverse racialism'?

Why not just call it 'racism'?

By referring to it as 'reverse racialism', it's almost as if you acknowledge that the normal flow of racism is from whites to blacks.

Is that what you're trying to imply? If so, doesn't that negate this statement:

"equivalents of racist whites" you have got to be joking, we are not even in the same league as the blacks.

You seem to be all over the place at the moment. Why all the confusion?
in answer to the original question- no it's not, the 'racists' said they were outraged because she was a virtual unknown and didn't show much university spirit, not because she was white, also, even if it was racism it's hardly the worst there's ever been!

Some of the answers especially from sp1814, have proven beyond a shadow of doubt that one cannot criticise some blacks, they are always right and the white person is always wrong, even if they have a cast iron example set before them.

Obviously I have upset sp1814, enough for him to splutter out three digs at me on the trot. only a pity I can't see him go red with rage. He knows it is only I that has the guts to dare criticise certain people, the media aren't allowed, things get swept under the carpet thanks to PC.

Anyone who disagrees or think I am racist and bigoted for pointing this out, please read the report again and substitute that the beauty queen is black in an all white collage, and that she has been treated in the same way.

If you are a fair and reasonable black person or a white person who is not a perpetual slavery apologist, you have to admit this girl was given a bad time.

The three posts in a row reflect my growing incredulity at the errors in you earlier missives.

I note you have not answered any of my points, so I shall withdraw from this post because:

a) I accept your non-response as an implied admission that you HAVE no response

and

b) I have Murderland, a BBC4 documentary and a David Attenborough programme to watch from last night, and have to get them all in before I go to bed.

I shall, as always, remain dignified and magnanamous in victory...apart from saying "Ya boo, sucks to you".

Damn...nearly made it.
