It could be worse, at least the Spanish have a Narional Identity Card Scheme.

A police station blown up yesterday, 2 coppers killed today, just think how bad it would be without ID cards.
islands locked down airports and ports .theyve recently captured 2 high ranking members of eta in france .theres speculation this is the repercussion of that.

we will see what happens.

neti they are targetting the guardia civil.they live in barracks like the army unlike the nacional and local police who liev at home.the guardia civil are vseen as more of an enemy than the police.i think a lot of it goes back to francos time.

remember even here in tenerife they have discovered mass graves from francos time when he had republicans executed . there were many dark times in spains past and the basques are determined.

you have to remmeber also that the basque language is the oldest spoken language in europe , even older than english, and the basques are very determined.

there is a long bloody history between the guardia civil and the basques.

they are a military organisation not merely a police force.

History
The Guardia Civil was founded in 1844 during the reign of Queen Isabel II of Spain by the Basque Navarrese aristocrat Francisco Javier Girn y Ezpeleta, second Duke of Ahumada, an 11th generation descendant of Aztec Emperor Moctezuma II[1]. The purpose of their creation was to dismantle any revolutionary sentiment in the rural population, and much focus was given to the Basque provinces.
The guardia civil served with the spanish military in iraq too.
Sod that were of to mallorca soon
knoibby its in the mountains north of malaga and blanes

not near tourists
outside a guardia civil barracks

nowhere near el arsenal chillout
Its just awfull. Spain are already feeling the loss of Briitish tourism this year, with the euro/ pound exchange rate, plus our recession. Its sad , but Spain also have their political enemies, as we do. Innocent peope always get hurt.
I thought the news said it was in mallorca (majorca) not on the main land
Blimey my best mate from school was on a gap year from uni in 1975/76 living in the basque city of Bilbao and she was in an attack by eta.
My mistake, they are diffusing a second bomb on Mallorca (Majorca) near Palma Nova
the basque region is northern spain and southern france.

blackie mallorca is majorca .

its not on the mainland .they are hitting the civil guards but doing it to frighten tourists at the samme time .
much like the muslims in egypt when they machine gunned tourists outside a museum or bombed the seaside resorts

its a common tactic to try and hit the tourism and cost money
I know Majorca is Mallorca, I just did it that way incase some did not know.
its ok blackeeee
