My 18 month contract with Orange finishes in August. I think I'll stay on the network as the reception around my area is probably the best, but I'm sure I could get a much better deal online or in a different shop than I do if I just go into an Orange shop.

Say I was to find a deal (still with Orange) online, for example on mobiles.co.uk, do I need to start up a contract from scratch? i.e., leave Orange, and then sign up again?

Also, would my contract automatically keep going past August if I were to do nothing at all? Rather than just end suddenly and be left phoneless, I guess unless you actually phone up to terminate the contract at the end of the 18 months, it just carries on as it has done?

Thanks very much!

i can't answer all your questions i'm afraid, but I got a fab deal on orange contract. 400 anytime minutes to any number, mobile or network, unlimited texts, a brand new phone of my choice - 12.50 a month!

You have to ring up and say you're going to go with someone else, and be ready to hold your own. They should come up with a good offer. x
I agree with crisgal. My daughter wanted to leave Orange after being with them for 4-5years on contract. They gave her a new contract at 9 per month plus a Samsung Tocca.
Wish I could do that, but I've been on PAYG..

I think I'll try my hand at phoning them up and haggling then! Thanks for your replies both of you!
