Should Shahid Malik now be sacked, just 48 hours after being returned to Government, or will it be another cover up by Brown?

Brown obviously does not learn from his mistakes. Before the ink was dry some cohort cleared Malik of any offence. Its a slap in the eye for those wishing to clean up the system. From what I gather Malik was only cleared of paying by cash which is a Muslim tradition. Now what rule says they get expenses for a 3rd property?

Verging on the criminal has never been a problem for MPs and the people in charge of them.

That petty crook Peter Mandelson had to resign from the cabinet TWICE for dodgy dealings.

And here he is, back in cabinet, as Lord Mandelson.

A slap in the face for the ordinairy members of the public who try to lead an honest life.

Seems as an MP you can do anything but still be forgiven.

jake - the scope of the enquiry did not encompass this new allegation that for 2005-2008 Malik was claiming rent for a second constituency office within his constituency residence. The Green Book clearly states that MPs are not allowed to claim for 'leasing or mortgage costs' on offices based at their home.
