Hugo Chavez of Venezuela has offered to take in detainees from Guantanamo. Is this an olive branch to the USA or a cynical ploy to embarrass President Obama and curry favour with Arab regimes?

It is very naive. Whilst many of the pinko liberals on here will claim all detainees are innocent, thsi is more than likely not the case with the majority. The USA is not daft, it costs alot to keep thses people detained and I suspect by noe most innocents have been smuggled back to their coumtry of origin, probably with a bribe.

Chavez's offer is very dangerous - for al of us.
