Will the general public i.e. savers, mortgage holders etc, with Abbey, RBS and HSBC be effected by the $50b loss.

Grateful for any guidence as I bank with 2 of the above banks.

Now I know why HSBC has been so quick to jump on every one with the Bank charges.
I thought these people know what they are doing.
Obviously not.
