Can anybody help please.

I need a title of a song which I believe was around in the 90's. Sung by a black woman and the only lyric I know is,

"Take the ribbon from my hair".

I think that was the first line. It was a nice, shall I say R & B song. She had a lovely voice so I'm guessing she maybe did some other songs too.

Not sure if there's a 90's pumped up version of it, but if there is the singer needs shooting!

There's a truly beautiful song called Help Me Make It Through The Night by Gladys Knight and The Pips, with that line as the first one.
this song has been covered many times, there is a list here

Not tough at all - a very famous song by a very famous singer.

:)
I agree - think it must be Help me make it through the night'. It's just gotta be.

Take the rollers from your hair ,
shake them loose and let them fall.
lay your teeth in a glass,
by that chanty ( psspot ) in the wall.
