Getting caught smoking a legal drug in a public place, and the long arm of the law would come heavily down on the ordinary guy, yet when a celebrity is caught in possession of illegal drugs, then they get off with a caution.

Should this pathetic person been let off once again?

A stiff jail sentence would have knocked that sickly grin off his face as well as conveying the message to his fans that Drugs are not 'Glam'.

Having a sickly grin is no reason for him to be punished more than anyone else.

No, but Wham rap is!!
Better hope Ronan Keating stays out of trouble then!
Well he's not getting in the news for much else is he.
Mr Plastic, like all celebs, needs his dose of publicity and he will go to any lengths to get it.
George Michael is absolutely NOT a role model for young people. You would be extremely hard pushed to find anyone under the age of 18 who could name any of his hits. Mr Micheal needs to get himself into rehab as these arrests are becoming increasingly sad and embarrassing.

One other thing - if he was caught with only a small amount of class A and C, I believe the standard approach the Met take is to give a caution. Someone's celebrity should not dictate how they're treated.
for the first time I agree with anotheoldgit. this evil pervert has even stooped so low as to parody his sick behaviour in music videos and in comedy shows, gaining him publicity and furthering his career.

enough is enough, lock him up. although I expect like all gays he would probably enjoy the all male environment especially at shower time. people like him need chemical castration.
Pmsl at ChuckFickens!

I just think it's very sad. It's certainly proof that no amount of money can make someone happy if they have such deep rooted issues as he obviously has.
Evil pervert....hardly!!

Possibly not 'evil pervert', but having sex on Hampstead Heath with any old stranger is not normal.
having sex with strangers is acceptable to some gay men, and possibly straight men. for some it is part of their way of life and if it doesn't encroach into the lives of passers-by.. so what? they're adults. what they get up to is their business.

as for the drugs he evidently has issues there but should be treated like anyone else. he didn't ask to be a role model, nor to be made an example of. plenty of ordinary people get cautions and virtual let-offs for all manner of offences. you just don't hear about them.

Chuck, I have a signed 12" version of Wham Rap ;o)
What they get up to is not their business when it is done in public.

I couldn't give a monkey's who George Michael has sex with in private - I don't care if he has sex with 10 men, their grandmothers and their grandmothers cats at the same time - he can do what the hell he likes as far as I'm concerned.

But, if I was walking my dog on Hampstead Heath and came across a couple of blokes bumming each other, I would be offended and disgusted - that is my right.

I know it is 'right-on' to smile indulgently at theses practices but, and I'll brook no argument on this, turning Hampstead Heath into a no go zone after dark so that the George Michael's of the world can get their jollies is wrong.
flip_flop

George Michael has never been caught having sex on Hampstead Heath.

You're getting mixed up with that other 80s pop star. I won't say his name (libel laws and all that). Suffice to say...he came from a small town.
I thought he was caught in a bush with a van driver?
And the bush was located on Hampstead Heath.
