It seems rather unfair that the guy who was "chasing" the thieves to get his money back is being charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

I have no problem with the thieving Kibble guy being in court as he was the one who stole the food and then sped off.

But the other guy, Olgun, was just trying to get back the money he was owed so I think he was justified in following them.

What is he supposed to do, just sit back and let them steal his livelyhood.

Any loss of a young life is sad, no matter how criminal that life was. What is just as sad is that no-one was there to give them the proper guidance and self-respect that could maybe have prevented the theft in the first place.

I do find it sad, they probably only did it for a laugh, it is something I did when younger, going into a cafe for something to eat, then running out without paying we never thought of it as a serious offence, just a laugh, as I have grown older of course you realise that this sort of thing affects peoples living, but when you are a kid that is the last thing that is on your mind.

Chasing thieves is the job of a policeman. They are trained to do it and the guy was more than likely driving dangerously trying to catch up with them. Do you really think he was driving within the law to try and catch these thieves. It's not okay to break another set of laws in order to right a wrong. Surely overtaking on double white lines is far more serious offence than nicking off with some food.

I think Olgun was quite within his rights to chase them. However it appears he performed a dangerous overtaking manouvre and this cannot be justified. If this directly caused the other car to crash then he is guilty as charged.

Kibble is the real culprit though. He lost control of the vehicle he was driving. He was probably speeding and reacted incorrectly when overtaken. The crux of the case will be whether Olgun's dangerous overtake was the main contributing factor or Kibble's inexperience and speed.

Kibble also drove away in the first place and is therefore morally responsible for initiating the whole thing. I hope the deaths of his friends plays heavily on his conscience for eternity,

at the end of the day they forfeit their rights to anything as they are theifs. its a bit rich to turn round and say the shop owner caused their deaths because he chased them, at the end of the day if they hadnt broken the law by stealing from the shop they wouldnt have been pursued for payment, unfortunate but they have no one to blame bar themselves. time for folk to take responsibility for their own actions, always seems to be other folks fault

Personally, I believe that if you are engaged in illegal activity that no matter what the consequences, you are solely responsible, and should forfeit all expected rights.

As for the takeaway driver - if he'd caught them and made a citizen's arrest there'd be a commendation. He has my pity, not the thieves.
