What next discrimination claims from muggers etc, when councils close off some alley-ways.

Why do they even listen to these minority groups, in such absurd cases?

You're at it again! And I'm trying to eat cake and drink tea! :o)

Then perhaps she should have put a comma after the word home?

Perhaps naomi should have done.........perhaps she tapped the comma key and it failed to register.............perhaps she thought that it made sense as it was, comma-less, (which it does providing you are reading it with a blood pressure of less than 290/150).............

...........it was stil ME you insulted, AOG.
AOG, I was responding to jno who asked if we would rather them do it out in the open than behind bushes, and if you'd have been reading the threads properly instead of getting your long johns in a knot, you'd have realised that. Yes we all know it's illegal in a public place - and I would have thought that was taken as read by anyone with a smidgeon of intelligence. However, the law aside, decency and self-respect dictate that intimate affairs should be conducted in private. Are you arguing with that?
Well, I've read that first post again and I'm not sure where a comma is supposed to go, but here's one anyway, AOG.

,

Put it where you like.

Oh dear, I must admit that I assumed I was dealing with intelligent adult members on this site. But I will have to hold my hands up, and admit that I was wrong to make this assunption.

Anyone could see that my original answer to naomi24''s contribution, was rather tongue in the cheek. That is before
monkeyeyes (a name he seems to be a little sensitive about), tried to be clever and told me to keep up.

Not being one to be out done, I took objection to this and forgot the light heartedness of my post and had a dig at his user name (if one doesn't expect ridicule then one should not choose a name that attracts ridicule).

He then returned, by trying to butter up to naomi by fighting her corner. This involved a barrage of insults to try and belittle me in some way. This is rather rich from a person who I believe wrongly thinks he is quite intelligent. His 17.11 posting is proof of this, something more suited to the lower grade me thinks.

But the missing comma (the ace up my sleeve) seems to have won over the question of intelligence.

I love you, AOG.
Oh do put a sock it in, oldgit, for heaven's sake. Intelligent debate? Judging by what you've written here it's quite clear that you wouldn't know intelligent debate - or humour - if either jumped up and smacked you in the face. What absolute nonsense!

Incidentally, you may think monkeyeye's chosen user name odd, but it seems yours fits the bill admirably.
Krom, many people on AB make me laugh - but that's the first time you've ever managed it! :o)

I assume you will be requiring indulgence from us to overlook your typographical error................something you were unwilling to extend to naomi.

Anyone couldn't see, hence my posting on that point. And trying to wheedle with the old chestnut of 'I had my tongue in the cheek (sic)' doesn't work.........
I'm not particularly sensitive about my name........I just become rather embarrassed for them when others try to wring something amusing, wry or insulting from it....... oh, and you DO need to keep up............

Not being one to be out done, I took objection to this and forgot the light heartedness of my post and had a dig at his user name (if one doesn't expect ridicule then one should not choose a name that attracts ridicule).

Pot Kettle black

Make your mind up..............was I buttering naomi up, or fighting in her corner...........? If you think that was a barrage of insults, then you have lived a very sheltered life so far.. As to the question of my intelligence, I'll leave that to others (more qualified than you AOG) to decide.

But the missing comma (the ace up my sleeve) seems to have won over the question of intelligence.

So, your whole argument is based on a missing comma ?!? How delighfully and expectedly prosaic of you.......

Still awaiting my apology............
If there is any truth to this story, and despite those people on this site who are convinced The Daily Mail and all other publications from the same stable are the work of cloven hoofed compulsive liars, I strongly suspect there is truth in the story, then to answer the original question, yes, it is utterly absurd.

But, as has been seen many times in the past, we are not allowed to upset the shirt-lifters, and indeed must (excuse the pun) bend over backwards to ensure they are accommodated.

I don't have a problem what they do behind closed doors, yes I think the act of anal sex between men is very odd and distateful, but if that floats their boat, then fair play to them, but I do have an objection with them humping each other where I might encounter them whilst walking my dog.

monkeyeyes

The time was 22.44 and poor old monkeyeye's were getting sleepy, but oldgit had upset him so much, he couldn't sleep until he had one last bash at him. Hope you did not have nightmares old fellow.

It was all in vain because both you and your darling naomi were defeated, first naomi for her punctuation, and then you for not realising that if you read it without the comma it takes on a different meaning. I obviously knew where she was coming from, but was quick enough to notice the missing comma, hence my tongue in the cheek reply.

In closing, don't wait up again tonight for that opology, it ain't going to arrive.
There are very few public places such as parks and so on that are sex free most of the time. Day or night.
The Gay guy we used to share a house with often boasted about the men he would solicit in parks and open common ground. He seemed to think, as did most of his "mates" that it was their God given right to do it and the "straights" were ruining it all for them.
They even have web sites which give the location of these places.
So called doggers are no better.
I talking from a point of view as some one who spent a lot of time among gay men. I always found it strange that gay women didn't do the same thing.
There is no cottaging in the Lesbian fraternity. They do not feel the need to pick up complete strangers in parks.
I have no problem with gay men picking up other men.
What ever lights your fire.
But keep it to yourselves. Is that so hard?

AOG, I'd rather them take their partners home than conduct what ought to be a personal and private matter in a public place.

As Monkeyeyes has already pointed out, there is no missing comma. If I had inserted a comma after the word 'home', as you've suggested I should have done, it wouldn't have altered the meaning of the sentence one jot, so stop making yourself look ridiculous. You're arguing with people, who on the subject under debate, agree with you, and you sound like a bitter and vindictive man. Or perhaps you just like to argue for argument's sake?

flip flop and tigerlily - both spot on.
Exactly as I said in my post of 17.11........

Which of the rabble-rousing scare-mongering Daily Mail headlines will you be treating us all to today, AOG ?

I also happen to agree that, in the wider context, any sort of solicitation of a sexual nature is unwelcome in any place where unsuspecting members of the public may chance upon it.
Question Author
At least we agree on this monkeyeyes.

See you on my latest Daily Mail post.

naomi24

bitter and vindictive man.

Not one bit normally, only to those that are to me.

Or perhaps you just like to argue for argument's sake?

Must admit I like a good argument, but I would much rather call it debate. But it would seem that some young females on this site operate on an extremely short fuse. This could be due to their "Modern Partners" giving them too much of their own way, but that is a subject we could debate sometime in the future.

....it would seem that some young females on this site ....

Think again AOG - but thanks for the compliment. I suppose it proves one thing - you really don't know everything - even though you think you do.
